If you’ve been following Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru, you know it’s a wild ride—part isekai adventure, part Super Sentai homage, and all kinds of chaotic fun. Episode 10, however, cranks things up a notch, blending intense action with deep character moments and a sprinkle of that signature absurdity fans love.
This episode dives headfirst into the conflict between Tougo (our beloved Red Ranger-turned-adventurer) and Azir, the antagonist who’s more tragic than purely evil. The Egyptian-themed setting adds a fresh aesthetic, and the fight sequences are some of the best the series has delivered so far. Fans on MyAnimeList pointed out how Azir’s backstory—his father’s death at the hands of racist desert dwellers and his subsequent manipulation by the shady butler Vidan—adds layers to what could’ve been a one-dimensional villain.
One user hilariously noted: “You know things are about to get real when they start the opening song before the actual opening.” And boy, were they right. The episode wastes no time throwing us into the fray, with Azir’s illusion-based powers (which Yihdra cleverly deduces are just him manipulating sand) making for a visually stunning battle.
One of the most divisive moments in the episode was the sudden shift to a flashback about the Kizuna Five’s origins—right in the middle of the fight. Some fans groaned at the pacing (“Why cut the episode short for five-minute filler content?”), while others defended it as setup for future payoffs (“It’s NEVER filler for this show but a set-up for a payoff.”).
The Kizuna Five’s dynamics continue to be a highlight, with their quirky personalities and the way they’ve grown accustomed to Tougo’s otherworldly antics. The post-credit scene, featuring more of their interactions, was a fan favorite. “I can’t believe that Green isn’t the older member,” one viewer laughed, while another appreciated the reveal that Red is actually 18 (“It means the protagonist is actually an adult—young adult, of course, but still.”).
Even in the heat of battle, the show never loses its sense of humor. The sheer ridiculousness of the fight—complete with over-the-top name-calling and Lowji covering Teltina’s ears to block out the noise—had fans in stitches. “The way the rest of the crew was losing it over the ridiculous fight sequence… Talk about a chef’s kiss,” one comment read.
Yihdra’s deadpan reactions to the chaos (“Modern Kamen Rider and Sentai battles are full of SFX to market toys.”) and Raniya’s confusion (“Welcome to the squad, Raniya.”) kept the tone light, proving that Sentai Red knows how to balance drama with comedy.
Episode 10 is a solid entry in the series, though not without its flaws. The abrupt flashback disrupted the momentum for some, but the payoff in character development and world-building can’t be ignored. As one fan put it: “This show is so fun, it makes me smile.”
With two episodes left, the stakes are higher than ever. Will Azir find redemption? Will the Kizuna Five’s origins tie into the final battle? And most importantly—will we get to see Yihdra in a Sentai suit? (Fingers crossed.)
If you’re not watching Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru yet, now’s the time to jump in. It’s a love letter to Super Sentai fans, a hilarious isekai romp, and, as one viewer perfectly summed it up: “My guilty pleasure of this season.”
Final Rating: 8.5/10 – A thrilling, if slightly uneven, episode that proves this series is more than just a parody.
